Explore a programme of international workshops at Global Food Week, delivered in collaboration with leading world organisations.
The program will focus over its three days on diagnosing the epidemiological situation, building institutional capacities, leading to the formulation of a unified practical framework that ensures the sustainability of technical and trade cooperation between the two regions, which enhances the position of the Regional Office as a key player in securing supply chains.
Young people are essential to transforming global agrifood systems, which employ around 44% of working youth worldwide. However, many—particularly rural youth and young women—continue to face barriers to education, finance, technology, land and decent employment.
FAO recognizes youth as active partners and drivers of change. Following the success of the first YALAFAST cohort in 2025, the programme will expand into an international cohort at the Global Food Security Summit in the UAE. It will bring together emerging youth leaders from diverse regions and backgrounds to develop leadership skills, exchange knowledge, build global networks and advance innovative, locally grounded solutions for more inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems.
Day 1 - 12:00PM - 4:00PM - Chapter Meeting
Day 2 - 10:30AM - 4:00PM• Participating countries will showcase their respective Country Investment Plans, highlighting strategies and achievements in agrifood transformation. Each country will be allocated from 15 to 30-minute sessions to present their case, facilitating the gathering of key stakeholders and illustrating collaborative investment planning efforts from diverse national perspectives.
• Each session will be followed by a moderated session (including Q&A) of 15 minutes.
• Afternoon of 8 October will feature bilateral meetings, enabling direct engagement between country authorities, focal points, development partners, and investment stakeholders participating in the GFSS
