Food security is one of the defining challenges of our time. Andrew D. Ive and Big Idea Ventures are building the partnerships and technologies to address it globally. Andrew is the Founder and Managing General Partner of Big Idea Ventures, a global investment firm advancing innovation in food, agriculture, and materials. Through initiatives like the $200 million MENA Fund with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and leading partners in Saudi Arabia, he is focused on advancing food, Agri-, and water-technology to strengthen food security and innovation capacity across the GCC. Working with leading governments, corporations, and research institutions — including Friesland Campina, AAK, Bühler, Puratos, and Pfeifer & Langen — Big Idea Ventures connects innovation with industry to bring science-based solutions to scale. With a network of more than 2,000 startups and research partners worldwide, the firm helps identify and commercialize technologies that improve resilience and sustainability across global supply chains. Before founding Big Idea Ventures, Andrew built and led startups following an early career at Procter & Gamble. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and serves on the Nutrition Council at Tufts University. Andrew believes solving food security depends on practical collaboration between entrepreneurs, scientists, and industry — and is building the global platforms to make that collaboration real.
